Wrinkle correction using Botulinum toxin
Botulinum toxin, more commonly referred to as Botox, is a naturally occurring bacterial protein. Botox® treatments are especially useful for pronounced wrinkles caused by facial expressions (crow’s feet, frown lines, forehead wrinkles, neck wrinkles). Targeted injections of the product block nerve impulses, which prevents the muscle in question from being tensed as usual.
When botulinum toxin injections are performed at an early to medium stage, wrinkles can recede significantly.
Other functions, such as feeling or touching through the skin, are not impacted.
During the first treatment, only a small amount is injected. This way the patient’s expression remains natural and they can become acquainted with the new sensation.
Already pronounced wrinkles can subsequently be filled with hyaluronic acid.
